Frequently Asked Questions

What is your attendance and cancelation policy?

We understand unforeseen events occur; however, we do require that our clients arrive at their scheduled appointment times, which is typically at the top of the hour. We require a 24-hour notice if your child is sick, however, we do understand that this cannot always be controlled.

What happens if we miss a scheduled appointment?

If you are able to re-schedule the missed appointment with the therapist, that would be our first option. Teletherapy would be the next option. We allow two missed appointments without prior notice, then your child will be placed on a waiting list.

How will I be billed for services?

Our insurance billing is done monthly, in-house. Once the claims are processed by the insurance company, an invoice will be generated and emailed to your email address on file. Our net for returned invoices is 15 days.

What forms of payment are accepted?

We accept credit/debit cards, cash, check and money orders for insurance co-payments, deductibles, or co-insurances.

Do I need a referral?

The need for a referral for the initial session depends on the type of insurance policy. Please call our office to verify if you need a referral for the initial session.

Can I drop my child off and come back when the session is over?

Yes, you are able to drop your child off with your child's therapist and then return 5 minutes before the end of the session for parent report.

How long will my child need therapy?

After the initial evaluation, families are given a written plan of care which includes a frequency and duration for therapy. Your child's discharge from therapy services will depend on when your child meets his/her goals.

Can you work with my child if they receive Occupational or Speech Therapy at school?

Yes. Clinic-based therapy may have different approaches to goal development, treatment delivery, and treatment approaches, which may compliment your child's school-based services. If your child does receive school-based services, our therapists (with parent consent) can consult with school therapists to coordinate therapy.

My child did not qualify for EI/School-based services, can you still work with them?

Yes. During the evaluation process, we may use both standardized and criterion-referenced measure to determine the eligibility of our clients. Per testing measures, if your child presents with a delay/disorder, services would be recommended.

Do you offer teletherapy services?

Yes. We use the ZOOM platform, which is secure and HIPAA compliant. Our therapists are trained to perform teletherapy sessions. We can use teletherapy in lieu of face-to-face sessions in case of emergencies or illnesses.
